Lake Molveno and the Brenta Dolomites

Molveno, a jewel of western Trentino, lies at an altitude of 864 metres on the shores of the lake that bears its name, at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites. The complete circuit of Lake Molveno follows the “Giro del Lago” loop trail, with convenient starting points at the Lido or near the main beach. The route is approximately 11 kilometres long and usually takes around 2.5 to 3 hours to complete, excluding stops. It is an easy, mostly flat and well-marked trail, alternating between lakeside paths, woodland, footbridges and a few short uphill sections. Along the way, walkers can discover the Roman Bridge, a waterfall, the Napoleonic Fortifications and, towards the southern end of the lake, the Nembia area.

The trail is suitable for hikers of all ages, families and children accustomed to walking. Large sections can also be tackled with a stroller, although roots, stones and a few uneven passages require some care. Comfortable footwear, water and clothing suitable for the weather are recommended. Lake Molveno and the Brenta Dolomites offer a unique setting, where turquoise waters, forests and spectacular peaks create a perfect balance between nature and beauty.
